Hey guys!
Today was just another typical day at school. (Don't worry, i won't use the B word.) Running to class, and dodging countless bodies in the school. I couldn't even believe it when yesterday at the assembly, the vice principal told us that there were about 2100 students in the school. 2100!!! (and the grade 8s only make up 360 of that population!) There's so much people, and everyone is so tall and big. It really feels as if i had shrunk. I feel incredibly tiny! Like a mouse in the midst of a group of elephants. Anyways, my french teacher was wondering, are we getting used to high school? Well, for me, sort of, because you can't really get used to having 8 teachers. For 8 years, you've had just the one teacher and you know all his/her expectations and can get to know them really fast. But you walk into this new school and *poof* 8 teachers all appear all with their own expectations and homework. That's why I'm really grateful to have AP Class because I can spend time talking with classmates to get to know them better and doing that, I can release the stress that's been building up.
Also, the french teacher asked if we were scared to go to her class. That, I found was hilarious. But i agree with her. She needs to know if everyone's comfortable, and that's really important. You can't go be at your best when your not comfortable. That's part of the reason we had couches in my grade 6/7 class :). (By the way, high tables and spinny chairs are a good replacement)I can't learn if I'm forced to sit on a cold, hard chair the whole day. Could you imagine?
One last thing. I love the freedom you have in high school. During lunch you could wander around and eat almost anywhere. Compare that to elementary, where you are forced to sit on a specific bench in the gym, and aren't allowed to move, literally. You could barely talk to your friends.
I think I'm going to pass out from exhaustion any minute now...
Stay tuned,
Dapple Grey.
