T3 B46: Geneskool

This was actually an awesome field trip! I got to school early, since my mom had work, and I waited until people showed up. I was supposed to go with Leslie, but Ms. Jay put me in Cynthia's car, and we went first! Nobody was there when we got there, so we found our way to the classroom, and since our class didn't come yet, we got a tour of this little room where they keep animals. The first thing I saw when I stepped in the classroom was the snake. It was really cute! It's tongue was slithering out and it had little black eyes, and it was looking at us from the corner of the cage. I didn't have the nerve to hold it, but while Judy and Cynthia held the snake, I just pet it. It was really smooth, and not what I expected a snake to feel like! We also saw this lizard from the desert, and it's skin was really smooth as well! We also got to see sea urchins, and starfishes (including this sun fish, which was really cool! After a while, we had to start our lesson. It turns out to be really interesting! We worked on a mystery, and used pipettes. Somewhere in the middle, I suspected that I've already done Geneskool in Grade 5, but didn't remember it. We took a lunch break, and we wandered down to the college cafeteria. It was so cool! We ate our lunch quickly there, and then watched Jessie reclaim her prize doughnut. That was pretty interesting! We got back to our classroom, and injected the DNA samples into the electrophoresis machine, and that was so fun! We played an intense round of jeopardy, and came really close to winning! To make the day even better, I got dropped off at home right after the field trip (since it was on the way back) and that just put me in an even better mood. I'm going to enjoy today while I can!
