T3 B56: The Truth of Cocoa

Today was a pretty sunny day, even though the weather forecast said that it was supposed to rain, so I was in a pretty good mood. The problem was that we got loaded with a whole bunch of homework! For French we have a orale quiz next week, which is what I was really afraid of! For math, I did paper folding activities with Leslie, and it ended up not as torturous as I thought! Paper-folding activities are actually a lot easier! Then for Applied Skills, we watched Contact, which was really interesting. I wonder if that might be possible in the future! Communicating with aliens is really interesting, and those weird sounds that they heard were so creepy!
For Socials, we watched this video of how cocoa was produced, and how child labour was involved. It was so sad, especially the part where the host person hands the children and a worker a chocolate bar, and he found out that they never tasted chocolate in their whole lives, even if they spent most of their lives making it! It was so, so sad when the child's face lit up when he ate the chocolate, because it was like heaven to the child, and he never tasted anything so good. But it's not like stopping people from eating chocolate will do anything. But I just hope that one day, some of us will find a way to stop child labour!
