Yup, after watching lots of really amusing god presentations, it was finally my turn. To my own surprise, I wasn't as nervous as I thought I would be. It all went really smoothly. Jessie was Hephaestus, and she really captured the audience's attention with all her sad little remarks about poor Hephaestus' childhood. I, Harmonia, was next, with my ranting about peace and harmony... Then we had our little play on the CURSED necklace. Yes, cursed, and unfortunately it was given to Harmonia's family. Hephaestus was the creator of it, and he gave it to Harmonia as a wedding present. Little does she know, that the necklace was cursed and that it brought misfortune to all that possessed it. Yeah, the story was pretty sad, and it ended with Harmonia and her husband being turned into serpents.
Speaking of English, I'm getting an 85.7something, which is barely an A. I hope my book talk and my god presentation raises the mark, and not lower it. I did my book tests today, on the Luxe and Catching Fire, both in my opinion, some of the best books I've ever read. I think I'm going to find the next book after Catching Fire, which is Mockingjay, and the next book after the Luxe, which is Rumours. Argh, what I hate about these books though, is how the ending always leaves you hanging on the edge of the cliff, in so much suspense. The hard part is going to be finding the books in the library, and I doubt I would be able to catch one of those rare moments, where they are actually on the shelf.
I should get back to work now,

T2 B100: Igloo
Whoa! There's so much snow! I can't believe it! Everything is so white, and really pretty. Now, I don't want to walk outside and ruin it. I really hope the it doesn't rain today, because I don't want to see the snow go. And it's STILL snowing. Sitting here on the couch staring outside at the falling snow flakes feels so magical, until all the memories about what's due tomorrow rushes back. Sigh. Just watch me. I'm never going to give up. I'm going to finish all my work, and pull through. Even if it takes me until 2am.
Oh cool! My brother, my dad, and the kids from downstairs are building this really huge igloo in the backyard. It's looks really cool, and all three of them can fit inside! They're still adding a lot of snow to it though. Maybe I'll go join them right now....I should play in the snow one last time before it goes away.

T2 B99: More snow!
I'm finally trying out Google chrome, because Internet Explorer was being really annoying and slow. And it's so awesome! I don't why I've never tried it before. I've just been playing around with it. Hmm, maybe Mr. Olson does have a point when he says Google's the best. Also, I fooled around on iGoogle, and now I've created my own little page. I found this really cool theme, Owly, about an owl and his friends. It changes depending on the time of the day, and it's so cute! I still remember when I used to read the Owly comic books. Instead of using words to talk, they use symbols and images. It's really sweet, and I've read all the Owly books. At 10:00, Owly is in bed and sleeping, and it actually made me want to go to bed. Hmmm, maybe this is good for me.
Anyways, it's snowing again, but really gently. I hope it builds up, so I can play in the snow tomorrow. Snowing at the end of February is really cool, but it's probably the last of it.
Hurray for snow!

T2 B98: Scholastic Challenge
So, like Mr. Sale said, we did our Canadian Scholastics Challenge today. Apparently, if you win, you get a really cool prize and trophy. Well, our class is the only class participating, so one of us is going to be the big winner. It was pretty easy. Since it was multiple choice, we could easily have guessed the answer. We had an hour to finish. To make it worse, they had a countdown until the test was over, so that put a lot of us under pressure. Speaking of pressure, right after the test, we had a religion test, with the three hardest religions ever. Buddhism, Taoism, and Wicca. I barely pulled off a B, after spending the night studying.
Oh! In science, we did this really cool experiment called "egg in a bottle." Ms. Davidson, our student teacher, had a beaker, a match, and a peeled, hard boiled egg. First she got some scrap paper, then burnt it with the match, and dropped it in the beaker, so it was still burning when it was inside. Quickly, she put the egg on the top of the beaker, to cover it. Guess what happened next? The egg just squeezed itself into the bottle and plop! it landed inside, still maintaining its shape. Cool, right? Well, the only problem was getting it out again. We tried blowing into it, but it didn't work. Some of us suggested using a stick and poking it out, but that would be too messy. Finally, we decided to pour water into and it and try to get it out. Ms. Davidson went out of the room to do that, so I'm not sure if it actually worked. Also, Ms. Smedley announced the science fair winners. Guess who got in? Alex, Cynthia, and Leslie. They get to go to the district science fair, and hopefully get into the regionals.
Good luck to the science fair winners!

T2 B97: French Relee Race
We did had a relee race thingy during french today. It was so fun! Okay, we were in rows so the first person had to run up to the board, write an adjective and run back to their seat. Then the next person, and the next. Whoever was the had the most adjectives and were the most accurate would win. The hard part was that we couldn't rewrite the same word. That was pretty hard, since you had to get a word before you went up, study it, and make sure no one else had it. In the end our team won, because we had the most words, even if we repeated a word once. It was really fun though. Oh yeah, near the end, Mrs. Chuaqui made us sing that French song, again. And it's still stuck in my head...
So, today was another round of God Presentations. We had Aphrodite, Eris, Kronos, Uranus, Demeter and Persephone. They all had really cool myth skits. I forgot to mention last time that Eros went last time. His presentation was really cool, since he was Cupid, and he even handed out "arrows" with chocolate hearts tied to them. We now have four gods with names that sound so much the same: Ares, Eris, Eros, and Iris. Weird, right?
To the gods!

T2 B96: Band Recordings
Since the end of term is only a week away, our band recordings are due at the end of this week. I've spent so long practicing, because I never manage to do well on my recording. Even though he only picked 2 songs for us to record, they're both really hard. I don't know how I'm going to do this. I spent most of today. Recording and recording and recording. I'm so tired of hearing those two songs even. Eventually, I just gave up, and sent in my two best ones. I hope they get a good mark, even though you can hear me breathe sharply throughout one of them. But they take so much air, and I can't breathe out air for that long...
For the Math contest, I figured out that I got 23 out of 35, which is pretty good, and better than I expected. I wonder what the other Synergy kids got. I bet they did better than me. Anyways, I still have to complete the Gauss math contest, which is probably going to be way harder than this one.
For science, we finally got our science fair marks back, and I was so nervous. In fact, everyone was. As soon as we saw our percentages, people were either jumping for joy, or complaining. It was really weird to watch. I got 88% which I'm really happy with, but then it's going to bring down my percent. I hope it doesn't bring down more than 5%, because then I'll lose my A for sure.
Last piece of surprising news. My sister got accepted to synergy! Hurray! Thank goodness for second offers! Cynthia's brother got accepted, too. Maybe they'll be best buds.

T2 B95: God Presentations
We started god presentations and they were just...stunning! Like I expected. Presenting today was Prometheus, Artemis, Athena, Hestia, Zeus and Hera. Fiona got her Prometheus role all memorized, and it was probably the best we've seen. Also, she went first so she did really well. Artemis, Athena, and Hestia had the most creative one. They danced to "Single Ladies", because they were the three virgin goddesses. Get it? It was so cool! Zeus and Hera was the most entertaining of them all. Especially since Zeus made so many jokes, and they were really into their acting.
Okee, in skating, we did 3 turns. It's gliding on one foot and then changing directions. It's actually pretty easy, or at least easier than I thought it would be. At the end, Liana promised that we could play a game, so we played freeze tag. I managed to not get caught, until near the end because I couldn't do a sharp turn fast enough. Oh well. It was a really epic game of freeze tag, and the boys just kept slamming into the boards.

T2 B94: Snow!
Yay! The snow has returned! It was so cold right after school. While we were driving home, I saw snowflakes falling, and I was so amazed! At first, it was just a little, and I remember being sad because it didn't stick, and just melted right away. Then it started getting bigger and bigger. It was just so awesome! The next time I looked out the window, it was everything was white, and it was STILL snowing, a LOT. Sweet. :)

T2 B93: Hair cut
Oh no. My lovely long hair is gone! In it's place is very short, thin hair...I look really different, I'm not used to having such short hair. Sometimes I reach out to fix my pony tail, and then realize that it's not there anymore. Now I have to clip my hair with a barrette, and it's really annoying when my hair gets in the way. I wish I never had to go. Afterwards, I just stared, and stared at that pile of hair on the floor. It's gone...

T2 B92: My old stuffed Rabbit
When I woke up, I was so happy! It's sunny! The sky's so bright blue, and the nice clouds, and sunshine! I couldn't believe it! Oh yeah, I was searching for a t-shirt in my closet when I noticed this box that must have been there for a looong time. But I haven't noticed it until now. How does that work? Anyways, I opened the box, and guess what I found? All my old toys from when I was smaller. It brought back so many memories. Like my old stuffed rabbit. I got it for my birthday when I was in like Grade 2. It's still kind of new-ish, so I put it on my bed again. It has a carrot attached to its hand, and I still remember I would feed it every night. Now I just keep it on my bed because I'm sorry it had to be stuck in a box for so long. You know, toys have feelings, too, Like in Toy story. Now every time I look at my rabbit, it makes me smile. The good times :) .

T2 B91: Gnomeo and Juliet
Today was another Pro-D day, so I decided to go watch a movie with my brother. The only little-kid movie that was on was Gnomeo and Juliet. When we got there, the line was pretty long, since it was a Pro-D day, and everyone probably decided to go and watch a movie. The movie itself was okay, it was pretty funny and cute. It was almost exactly like Romeo and Juliet, but of course, it was with garden gnomes. There was even a statue of Shakespeare in the movie! It was kind of like Toy Story, where they only came alive when humans weren't watching, and they were totally scared of toys and cars. Like Shrek, Juliet had cool ninja-like skills and had a really weird sidekick-just like Donkey. It was only after the movie, that I found out that the director of Gnomeo and Juliet also directed Shrek and Toy Story. No wonder. Still, I enjoyed it, and it sure made us laugh.

T2 B90: Catching Fire
Yes! I couldn't believe it! After so long waiting for the books to be back in the library, I've finally found Catching Fire and City of Bones! I've been waiting forever for Catching Fire. I read the Hunger Games before winter break. It was so good. Now I've finally got the next book! Catching Fire is supposed to be more boring than the Hunger Games, but I'm still reading it, just because it's the next book in the series. I'm finally starting to write my god script, and it's so fun! I love being my goddess, she's so fun to read about. I've also read other people's script, and they're so good! I can't wait to watch the god presentations, I bet they're going to be so fun! In French class today, our teacher made us sing this French song. It was really funny, because she encouraged us all to song be dancing, and singing really loud. She made us sing it over and over and over again. By the end of class, everyone was singing. Now I got the song stuck in my head.
I'm so distracted by that bright red cover of Catching Fire. Maybe I'll go read it now....

T2 B89: New stuff
Ow. For the whole of today, my arms were really sore. It was more sore than yesterday. I can barely stretch my arm without it hurting. Mr. Dykstra said that our arms were probably going to get sore, but I didn't think it would be THIS sore. He also said that our muscles were under repair, and probably wouldn't hurt after. I just hope it doesn't hurt anymore tomorrow. So, today we had Chinese school, and guess what? We get new books and stuff! Our new chinese teacher gave us this cool schedule thingy, with all our homework already planned on it. We also got three new exercise books, and a new textbook, and new workbooks. I can't wait to write on that first, clear new page. I just love new books! I know I'm going to dread the sight of those books after a while, but for now, I so excited! I love admire the smoothness, and the newness of our new books, it's just so cool! And that new book smell...Our teacher is so organized, she already has everything planned out. I wonder what cool new things she'll teach us next time...

T2 B88: Math Contest
This morning, we had the Math Contest, so I had to wake up earlier for that. When I got to the cafeteria, there it wasn't open yet, but there were a whole bunch of synergy kids there. I wonder what happened in applied skills with so many people gone. The CNML was pretty easy, except for the back page which I didn't even have time to do. I had to guess most of the back page, but I hope I got a decent mark. I really want to get into Math 9 Enriched next year. So for P.E. we finally started weight lifting. I partnered up with Natasha, and we ran around trying out different kinds of equipment. There was this one, I think it was called the leg curl, where you sat like you were going on a roller coaster ride, and then you had to bend your knees. It was really fun, but it was also the only one that stretched our legs. All the other ones were building muscles in our arms. The first arm one we did was pretty hard, it took so much of our strength, and our muscles were really tired after. Then we did three more with our arms, and our arms just died at the end, it was so sore that it hurt to extend my arm.
For skating lessons today, we did spins. Oh no, the horrible, horrible spins. I get motion sickness really quickly, so I'm not a big fan of the spins. I can do a lot at first, but then I get really dizzy afterwards. After that, I only watch the others, comment, and then do one spin every 3 minutes. It was so torturous, for the whole lesson we just kept spinning and spinning and spinning. And finally, it was time to go home. I hope next week we can go back to jumps again, I really can't take another class of spinning around.

T2 B87: Birthday Party
Remember, I said that one of my friends were turning 14? Well, today was Yunyi's birthday party! We all met up at Jessie's house, because it was closest to wherever we were going. Yunyi and I arrived at the exact same time, so we went in together. Jessie, was already there, watching TV, and complaining that Spongebob wasn't on. After a while, more people came, and eventually we had everyone: Yunyi, Jessie, Julliene, Grace, Amy, and Angel. We took the bus and then took the Skytrain to Lansdown, for lunch. The Korean BBQ place we were planning to go to wasn't open yet, so we fooled around for a while. We headed straight to Purdy's so Yunyi could buy chocolate for her parents, while some of us bought an ice cream bar. Then we went to Toys R Us, so Yunyi could buy a present for her brother. Aww, she's such a nice sister! By that time, the Korean BBQ place was already open, so we had lunch there. It was awesome food, and it tasted so good! The washroom was really creepy though it was all dark and gloomy. Anyways, we headed to Richmond Centre after that to do some shopping. Most of the time, we window shopped, and stared at all the expensive clothes we knew we would never get. Some of us bought a whole bunch of stuff at Aeropostale, and Jessie got 2 graphic Tees at Bluenotes. Then we went to Forever21 just to see what it was like, because it was new. And Oh my. I wouldn't want to shop there. There was a huge line up at the cashier, and another huge line up for the changing room, and it was so long, it went around the whole shop. When we managed to get out of the place, we went to Garage, where we actually bought a t-shirt each. By that time, it was pretty late, so we went back to Jessie's house. My mom was still busy, and couldn't pick me up, so I had to wait for my dad. While I was waiting, Jessie and I watched Spongebob. Yup, two whole episodes. It was pretty funny. I know why she loves him now.

T2 B86: History test
This morning, we had morning tea with a friend of my parents. They were really nice, and they gave us all (my siblings, cousin, and I) red envelopes! Anyways, our table was really crowded, since we had lots of people, so my parents decide to make a "children's table" We got to have our own table of four and it was so awesome. We got to talk all we wanted, and we sure had a lot to say. Most of the time, I was busy studying for the history test that my piano teacher was going to give me. It was about music during the Middle Ages....Luckily, there wasn't much to study. When I got there, I was so scared I would forget everything. During the test there were still questions I didn't know, and I had to guess them. Still, it wasn't a lot and I think my teacher's satisfied. Next week we're going to have one on the Renaissance, then Baroque, and then Classical. I hope I survive them all. Baroque and Classical are going to be especially hard....

T2 B85: Gift Shopping...again.
Valentine's Day is just around the corner, so I thought I'll go out to buy gifts for my family. My cousin's mom's birthday is today, so he came with me so he could get something to. We went around looking for things that our mom would like. Then we found the perfect place: Crabtree and Evelyn, a cool little therapy shop that had hand lotion, hand wash, body wash....and they all smelled really nice. For my mom, I got her a gift set of lotion, and hand wash. It was lavender-scented, which she liked the best. My cousin got the same thing, except it was rose water scented. We got to try on so many free samples, and the lady was really nice.
Back at home, I painted my mom a Valentine's Day card, since I just got new art supplies. It was so fun, experimenting with all the cool colours, and new paint brushes. Then I painted a card for my friend's birthday, since she has a birthday party on Monday. Out of my group of friends, she's the oldest, and she's turning 14! And then the rest of us will follow...Oh my. I'm going to turn 14. Somehow, I still feel like I'm stuck at 12.

T2 B84: Public Skating
My sister was off to Metrotown with her friends, we my mom, brother, grandparents and I went out for lunch at this really nice Chinese Restaurant. The food there was so good...Afterwards, I went public skating with my cousin. We wanted to practice our figure skating moves. Good thing that the Killarney skating rink was really close to his house, because we just walked there. The ice there was so smooth, much smoother than the ice I had lessons on, but that was because there were others before me. It felt so good to be skating again, and we just went around in circles again and again. Eventually, I'll have to get my skates sharpened, because I really can't skate with dull blades. Ahh....the feeling of gliding across the ice is probably the best ever, besides going horseback riding.....

T2 B83: King of Hearts
Today is the last day of school before the four-day weekend, so I can't wait! We were celebrating Valentine's day today, since we don't have school on Monday. We played this really awesome game called King of Hearts. The girls got these paper hearts, with our names on them, and we had to pin them to our shirt. Then the guys have to make the girls talk to them during break. But the girls aren't allowed to talk to them. If we do, we have to give the guy our paper heart. It was really fun, and I managed to get through the whole day without talking to anyone. Ok, during science, we had this really fun project where we built have to build a tower from paper, 3 pens, and tape. Ours got second place, because we were beaten by another team that had a taller tower than ours. Ours survived the teacher blowing on it, flapping a piece of paper in front of it, and even the fan! It was really fun building it, and took a lot of teamwork. In band, our student teacher, Ms. Olson, wanted wrote in her recording device to record one of our songs, so we could listen to it. I was really scared, because the flute section was right up close, right in the front, where it could probably be heard clearly. So we started the song, early and I came in a bar too early. I just froze, because I knew we were going to hear it in the recording. She played the recording, only to find that it ran out of batteries and just shut off. I'm was so relieved. I'm saved!!!

T2 B82: New Blue Chairs
Whoa. When I walked into Applied Skills this morning, I got a surprise! Instead of the normal grey and yellow spinny chairs, we got these new blue chairs. They were so awesome, since there was enough for everyone in the class. The only bad thing is that we don't get to spin on them any more, but they are really comfortable to sit on. Also, P.E. today was really short because of the Collaborative Day. We only did warm up, ran 3 laps, and then listened to Mr. Dykstra talk about weight lifting. This is by far one of the easiest P.E. classes we've ever had. In English we're learning about Hercules' labours. Since Mrs. Greskiw wasn't here, there was a substitute teacher in her place, and our assignment was to finish these sheets about Hercules. There were only 20 questions, but it took forever to do them, and we had to finish by the end of class. We wrote for so long, and my arms got so sore. Then Mrs. Greskiw got back, and told us that we could do it for homework. Oh well. At least I don't have much homework now. Oh yeah! Today was the day I got my new Chinese teacher. She was really cool, because she taught more advanced people, and also she was waaay better at English. She also talked Chinese really, really fast, so I had to listen really carefully before I could understand what she was saying. She was really interesting, and told me all this cool stuff that I didn't know. I glad I got a awesome new teacher, because I was really worried that the new teacher I was getting was going to be mean.

T2 B81: I'm free!
Hurray! I'm so happy! I can finally relax, and not worry about my projects. Brain presentation is finished, Science fair is over with, and our group is almost finished our Socials presentation. I can finally relax and maybe have time to read. During our skating lesson today, we worked on our Spiro and our Lounge. Spiro is just like the front scale, except it's harder on ice. It was my first time doing it, and I got it perfectly! Thanks to gymnastics, I'm more flexible and can do most of the moves. I just don't want to stop with our gymnastics, since we're starting our weight lifting session soon. The Lounge is just like the one we do in warm up for P.E. Except waaaay harder. You have to let your other leg drag, while the other one is bent and gliding. Liana makes it look so easy. But it's actually really hard to balance, and to come out of it. Sometimes, when I try to stop lounging, I slip and fall and thing swirl in circles. It's really weird, you just keep spinning. Anyways, that's all for today!

T2 B80: Running Langara
I have finally presented my long-delayed brain project. First it was delayed because of the Cynthia's long brain presentation and activity, and then it was delayed again when the computers wasn't working properly. Finally! I'm so happy! I've finished presenting it! Err..or a least part of it. I still have to do my activity, which is a game of password. It's should be pretty easy, though. I was really nervous throughout, but I still pulled through. The amazing thing was, I could still remember everything!
Ok, now for the worse. During P.E., Mr. Dykstra randomnly announced that we were going to do the Langara run. It was so unexpected. I wish he could have given us a warning, so I could have brought my Ipod along. But it turned out better than I thought it would. Walking there was so cold, and the wind was so strong, it felt like it was going to blow me over! Natasha and I ran side by side, keeping each other company, making sure the other didn't slow down or give up. Running with a partner is actually really good, and gives you better results than if you ran alone. So I'm really glad I ran with her. The running went smoothly, it good really hot at some places where we didn't have the shade, but the wind kept us cool, and it felt good. There were some parts that were especially hard, like when we change direction, and we end up running against the wind instead of with it. Our time was 18:00, which was pretty good. I beat my old score by 50 seconds, so I'm happy that I'm improving.

T2 B79:...more sciencefair
I've spent the whole of yesterday, and probably the whole of today, too working on my science fair. I've only finished half of what I'm supposed to type out, but I guess the other half will be easier. I've taken so many breaks already, to get myself more concentrated when I have to do work. Right now, there are so many people on Gmail, probably all working on the science fair. This is great, because we all ask each other questions, and keep each other company while doing our projects. One of my friends are already finished, and I really wished I could be done, too. Natasha and I are working at the same pace, and have the exact same things finished. I find that really cool, and we send each other our paragraphs so the other can edit. Ok, that's enough for my break. I hope I can finish before tomorrow.
Wish me luck!

T2 B78: Science fair!
Oh no! Science fair is due on Monday. Everyone is freaking out!!! I've already finished all my experiments, and I just have to type everything out, and thing stick them onto the board. Typing things out always takes longer than I expect, so I'm going to start with that, I guess. Just as soon as I finish writing this blog. I'm going to make a big list of all that I have to finish. Good thing that this year we only have an abstract to do, versus last year, we had to type out a whole lab report. A friend in Synergy 9 says they have to write a lab report. Oh joy! Now I dread next year. Hmmm....maybe I should just start on my sciencefair now. That would be a good idea.

T2 B77: Dad's Midnight Snack
Ok, after dinner, I watched this really cool movie on TV about this mermaid. I think it was called "Aquamarine" She's gone up to the earth to see if there was any love in the world, since I don't think love exists in the underwater world. She has this big huge tail , that appears whenever she's submerged in water. Her eyes are really blue, and she has nail polish on her toes that changes colour to match her mood. The weirdest thing was that she drank salt water. It was a pretty cool movie. And in the end, she goes back, with the result: there is love in the world, and it does exist. It was really sweet. So tomorrow is the Rome quiz, and I'm pretty sure all the Synergy kids are scared over it. Everyone is probably studying tonight. Mr. Sale already delayed it once, but since we have brain and stuff, no one has time to study. Also, I'm suspecting that my math teacher is going to give us a pop quiz tomorrow, since we haven't had a quiz or a test in a loong time. I'll have to look through my notes for that, too.
So, have you ever wondered what your parents do at night? Well, since I stayed up late studying, I got to find the answer to that question. There I was, in my room, reading my notes over and over again, when I heard a sound from the kitchen, which was pretty close to my room. I got really scared, because I thought it was a burglar or something, but I still wanted to find out what it was. So I crept out of bed and into my living room, where my dad was having a midnight snack, eating peanuts while watching TV. So THAT'S what they do. I just stayed up late at night with him, studying my notes, while he was watching TV.

T2 B76: Fencing
I did so much last-minute work yesterday, thinking that i would have to present my brain project today, but it turns out that Cynthia's presentation took way longer that it was expected, and I didn't have to do mine today. Now I wish I could have done it, because each time it's delayed, I get more and more nervous. Right now, I'll just rather get it over and done with. For English, we're starting our God project. We get to pick a god, and then present our information, pretending that we are that god. I picked Harmonia, because barely anyone has heard of her, and I'll like to learn more about her myself. It's sounds really fun, and I can't wait to see all the presentations, and all those cool costumes. For P.E., we did fencing today! It was soo fun and awesome! We fenced with this sword thingy, called a foil. It had a rubber tip at the end, so it didn't hurt to be poked with it. Actually, if you poke someone really hard with it, it just bends. And it really tickles. We also had to wear this weird fencing suit, but it was pretty comfortable. The helmet was a bit weird. I could barely see through it. But what was probably the worst was the gloves. They looked really dirty, and smelled kind of bad. Luckily, I got one that didn't really smell. We played capture the flag with swords, and had mini-fencing matches with different people. That has got to be the shortest P.E. block, ever. Or at least it felt like it. It was just too fun! A lot of people are thinking of joining the fencing club. If it wasn't so far away from my house, I would have considered it.

T2 B75: Chinese New Year
So, today's Chinese New Year! We got to stay up until 12 again, watching TV. We also had this really big dinner with all sorts of food in it. Too bad I had to spend most of my night studying for the science test, but I still had a great time with my family. Anyways, I had a calendar ceremony today, or that's what I like to call it. I have this big horse calendar on my wall, and at the beginning of each month, I flip it over to the next month, and then sit back and admire the new picture. I know it sounds weird, but it's a lot of fun for me. Also, there's this horse website, called Horse Channel, and they have these cool horse desktop backgrounds with a calendar each month. I love the suspense in seeing which horse is featured this month. Weird? I know. But it's something that always thrills me.

T2 B74: Jumps
This time, for skating lessons, we did the Waltz Jump. This is one of the few jumps that I could do well. I still remember how to do every step. Of course, I still had to practice. What you do is that you glide on one foot, jump, turn in midair, and land on the other. Sound simple? Well, it's a lot harder on ice. I got tired from jumping after a while, so we did some bunny hops. They are so fun to do! My cousin can't do them at all, so I kinda had to teach him. But even he's getting better at it.
For P.E. today, we didn't get to do gymnastics since the other class was using the gym for fencing. It was supposed to be our last day for gymnastics, so we couldn't do our gymnastics routine. Dykstra decided to make it optional, and we only had to do it if we wanted bonus marks. I think I'm going to go ahead and do my gymnastics routine, since I wasn't really good at the other tests. We had to do 3-2-1 skipping, which was skipping for 3 minutes, 2 minutes, then one minute. It was really hard for me, since I haven't skipped in a long time. I got tired after 2 minutes, but I still did well. The skipping was marked, and it was out of six. As in 600 skips. I managed to get 443, which I thought was okay. Kathy, a friend in my class got 7 hundred something. She totally surprised me, I couldn't believe it! After skipping, Mr. Dykstra talked about weight training. I hope it's easier than gymnastics.

T2 B73: Pen top submarine
Phew. I'm finally getting used to my block rotations. I'm pretty confident that I'm not entering the wrong class now. So, we had an experiment due for science today, called the "Pen top submarine" What we had to do was get a small, squeezable bottle, and then have a pen cap with plasticine stuck to one end of it. We fill the bottle with water, and drop the pen cap inside. Sound simple, right? Not. My "submarine" kept floating sideways, until I figured out that I needed more plasticine. After adding some, it became too heavy, so when I squeezed it, it went down, and didn't come up again. I did this so many times, adding plasticine and taking some off, until I finally got it to work. When I got to school, it was still perfectly fine. That is, until we got to science. That was when my submarine stopped floating, it just sunk. I was horrified. Luckily, I still had a few minutes before class, and I figured out the problem: my pen top had a hole on the top, that I needed to cover with more plasticine. Luckily I still had some left, and so I stuck it on. And it worked! The rest of the class was so nervous that theirs wouldn't work by the time Ms. Smedley marked it. I hope mine's survived and worked perfectly.

T2 B72: Hamster Escape!
My dwarf hamster, Squirt, is probably the best at escaping. Especially since he's only a baby, and can fit through small holes. The worst thing is, that he can sure ran fast. REALLY fast. So I was cleaning his cage, and I put Squirt in the play pen. My cousin came over for dinner, so he went and played with Squirt. At one point, he put his arm in, to try to get Squirt to climb on. Well Squirt did, but he did more than that. He climbed right up and jumped off on the floor outside the pen. Yup, you could say that he escaped. My cousin barely had time to react, because Squirt did this all so fast. Luckily we were in my parents' room, and there were a lot of doors. We closed them all so we got Squirt trapped. He ran under the bed. My cousin and I took opposite sides of the bed, and chased Squirt over to each others' side. I had the ball to capture Squirt in, so my cousin chased him over to my side, and success! I caught him. That took pretty long, and I really hope it never happens again. But I don't know, this is the third time it's happened now.

T2 B71: Bed Shopping
My dad wants to buy me a new bed, since my the one I'm using right now is getting old. We went to Ikea, and looked around, there was one really cool bed that I loved, but the wood around it was kind of fragile, and it was so easily to make a mark on it. There were so many scratches it already. Then we visited other shops around there. I guess what's happening now is that I'm getting my brother's bed, which used to my old bed, and he's getting a new bed. I'm fine with it, since I still miss my old bed. Also, after we went bed shopping, we had sushi at a near by restaurant. It was so good...I haven't eaten it in forever. I was so stuffed tonight, that I bet I could fall asleep right away.
Oh yeah, my sister also got her first cell phone. It's an Lg, and it looks pretty cool. It's way easier to text than my phone, and it has a touch-screen for dialing. Our plan is that she has $100, and it's pay as you go. My guess is that she's going to use up all her money really fast. For me, my $100 has lasted for a long time, and barely use it. She challenged me to see which phone lasts the longest. We'll see who wins that bet...

T2 B70: Block Rotations
Block Rotations was today. I have to get used to going to my different classes. What I really hope is that I don't go to the wrong class, because that would be so embarrassing. So here's my new schedule:
Day 1:
Applied Skills
P.E.
French
English
Day 2:
Math
Socials
Science
Band
This rotation is actually really good. My classes are all close to the next class. This is probably the best rotation I've had so far. Too bad we have to do another switch later on, I wish I could just keep my classes like this for the rest of the year. Other than that, I've spent most of my day reading other people's blogs. They're actually pretty interesting. You get to see the world from their point of view. Also, you get to find out about the cool things they are doing. I'm just going to go back to reading....

T2 B69: Gymnastics Routine
Okay, I've finally started thinking about my routine. Whenever I do, it kind of scares me. I really hope we don't have to do it in front of the whole class, because I'll really wonder what I'll do then. We have to have at least 13 moves, and can only repeat one of them once. So that means that I can't do 13 forward rolls at a time. Well, not that I was going to do that in the first place. I'm stuck thinking of combination moves, because I don't know how I'm going to put my moves together and make them flow. I already got the first part. So, I'm going to start with my starting pose, attempt a split, then move back and do a bridge from the floor. After that I go down into a V-sit, and move forward into a frog stand, that is, if I can hold it. From the frog stand I'm doing a forward roll, and then a cat leap. From there, I'm going to do a Tour-Jete, my change of direction, and then a scissor kick. I'm probably going to do a forward roll from standing, a tuck jump, a front scale, and then my ending move. Now I have to make it flow. I just hope that it's creative and not too easy. Sigh. I wish we didn't have to do this in the first place.

T2 B68: Chinese teacher
We (my siblings, my cousin and I) don't go to Chinese school. We all agree that it's the absolute horrible thing ever. What we do instead, is we have a Chinese teacher come over to our house once a week. When I was learning kindergarten level Chinese at Chinese school, I used to have this really awesome teacher, who always played games with us. Well, the Chinese teacher that comes over to our house is her. I still remember her, because she was so nice and always told us stories. Well, a couple of weeks ago, she found us (me and my cousin), a new teacher because she thinks that we're getting too old, and need to learn more, things that she can't teach. She's better at teaching little kids. So two weeks after, we're going to have a new teacher. I'll miss my old teacher, but she'll still come to our house to teach my siblings. Hmmm, I wonder what our new teacher's going to be like....

T2 B67: Bunny Hops
Okay, in band today, Mr. Hurst started talking to us about our music options for next year. We get to pick from a variety of them, too. That is, if we still want to continue with music. We could also do art, which I didn't want to do, since I could draw at home. We could also do drama, and I'm totally not good at acting. So it was music for me, and I'm okay with it, since I still love music. We could continue with intermediate band, which was probably what I was going to do, since I'll rather practice more on my flute. I'm not ready for Senior Band yet, it seems really hard from what I hear from the Senior Band volunteers. I don't want to go back to Beginner Band either, and start a new instrument, so I'm just going to stick with my flute. What I could also do is join Strings, but I've tried it before, and I don't like playing violin. I was considering doing choir, but then I thought of my flute. Oh how could I abandon my flute? So Intermediate Band it is. Most of my friends don't want to continue with Band, so I hope I survive next year.
Anyhoo, in skating today, we did bunny hops. It is really difficult, since I kind of forgot how to do it. But then I remembered it again. What you have to do is glide, lift one foot and jump, land on your toe pick, and then glide out on the other foot. It's actually quite easy, but sometimes I slip. Hmm, that reminds me, I should sharpen my skates soon...

T2 B66: Troy
Waking up seems extremely torturous today. I'm sick, so my head kind of hurts, and I can hardly breathe through my running nose. Also, my throat feels so dry and sore. I really want to go back in bed, but I can't. I'm really really sleepy, and I feel like I'm going to collapse any minute now. The sky was still pitched back, and it seemed like it was encouraging me to go back to bed. And then there's school. Oh, that just makes my head spin.
It wasn't that bad as soon as I was awake for longer. We finally finished Troy, and it was really sad at the end. Hector dies, and Paris kills Achilles. I'm still not sure whether I like Sparta or Troy better. Sparta seems cool because they have Achilles, whom I admire, and I want him to win. But the ruler of Troy seems to be a whole lot nicer, and Hector just seems so awesome. They're being invaded too, so I feel bad for them and want them to win. In the end, Sparta sends in the Trojan horse, and Troy is defeated. The bad thing was, Achilles also got killed. I guess in war, there is no win-win. There is only one winner and a looser.

T2 B65: Bye bye weekend
Oh my. Is the weekend gone already? Are you sure? Time seems to shoot past me and play tricks on me these days. I thought yesterday was Friday...Why do the weekends go by so fast? Where did it go? I'm sure I didn't spend my whole weekend doing my homework. I barely had time to play. It's just gone. Or should I say, another weekend wasted? Because I still have a whole lot of work to do by the end of today. Sigh. Some one should invent something to slow down the time.

T2 B64: A walk in the park
Since it was a nice day, my mom made us walk in the park. I admit, it wasn't that bad, just that I had a lot of work to do, and didn't want to go walk. But she still made us, so to the park we went. I haven't been there in forever, but things were still the same. There were a lot of dogs running around, and they were always so cute and fluffy that they made me laugh. Some were dripping wet after coming out of the lake. The wind was gentle, and it was really cool and calming. There were little kids learning how to ride the bike, and older people taking a morning stroll. Same old, same old. I still remember when I was smaller, we had this neighbor, who owned this really big poodle. He was gigantic! Or so he looked when I was smaller. He used to run really fast and was really energetic. I don't see him much anymore, but I guess that's because he's growing older. I still miss seeing him. I used to go over, and pet him. I wonder how he's doing.

T2 B63: Peace and quiet
Since I had a Pro-D day and my siblings didn't (they had theirs on Tuesday), I got to spend the day at home where it was really peaceful and quiet. Normally, my siblings are so loud, and can be quite annoying sometimes. So today, I managed to get a whole lot of work done before they came back. When they did, I played around for a while because I would be distracted anyways. Oh yeah, I've also discovered that the cost for riding has dropped $200, so now I'm saving all my money to go again. Yes, I'm just that crazy. The good thing is, this will teach me not to spend my money on useless things.

T2 B62: Early Dismissal
So, today we had a early dismissal, because it was parent teacher conferences later. It was great, since I got to go home early and finish all my homework and then play. Yes! That means that I could finally sleep earlier and not wake up feeling like I've barely slept. I wish there could be a snowstorm now, so we can play in the snow and not have to go to school tomorrow. That would be kind of great, but it probably has to be a big huge one, before the schools close down. I really want to play in the snow. It's just that every time it snows, it isn't enough. Sure I can make tiny snow balls, but I wish it would snow really hard right when the weekend starts. That would be awesome!

T2 B60: Skating Lessons
Today finally arrived! It seemed like it would never come. Yes, today was our second skating lesson. Again, time just shot past, and it was over before I knew it. This time, we did a lot of cross overs. First we did cross overs in a figure eight shape, then we switched directions and went the other way. Cross overs can be hard if you haven't done it in a long time, but luckily, I got the hang of it.
In Gymnastics today, we had our second test, which was on-foot balances. I spent my time practicing for the other ones, since on-foot balances were the easiest for me. I got tested on my front scale, which was exactly the same as a spyro in figure skating. The best part was that I got perfect on my test! Unfortunately, I'm probably not going to do as well for my other ones.

T2 B59: What else could go wrong?
As most of you have heard, Avalanche may be leaving us one of these days. Well, if he really is going, then I hope he does well at his new school, and I thank him for being a great friend to all of us. We'll miss you.
Okay, now for today's update. My sister and I had to walk home from tutor today, since my mom was really busy, and my dad was still at work. It was just across the park, and so we didn't think it was that bad. When we started, the sky was still bright-ish. But then it got darker and darker and darker, until the street lights came on. It was kind of scary, but at least there were still other people walking around. We would flinch at any sudden sounds, and we would speed walk the way home. While I was walking, my sister didn't let me say, "What else could go wrong?" because everytime someone says it, something does go wrong. Like in Garfield, when he got locked out of his car, he said it, and it started POURING on him. We did get home safely, and only then did I say it. But nothing happened!

T2 B58: The annoying sink
We have this cool new sink thing that opens at when ever you touch it. But the annoying thing is changing the temperature. Whenever I open it, the water is only warm-ish. If I move the handle over a tiny bit, it becomes too cold. If I move it the other way, it becomes too hot. I just don't wash my hands in that sink anymore. It's so annoying....
Anyway, I went to my piano teacher's house today. She had a dog, Nino, who I played with everytime I go. I just love Nino, he's really sweet and gentle. He's a golden retriever, and I've known him for a long time. I taught him to do a lot of tricks, and taken him for tons for walks. Including the unfortunate one where he spotted a squirrel and started chasing it. I had to yank on his leash really hard and plant my feet to the ground in order for him to stop. Also, when my piano teacher was away on vacation, we kept him at our house. So, I've known him for pretty long. The sad thing is, he's getting old. Old enough that I can see a difference. He walks a little slower, and always stops to stretch. But the good thing is, he's not so old that he turned deaf, he still has a lot of energy in him. But still, I'll hate to see that day when he's gone.
Woof!

He walks a little slower, and always stops to stretch. But the good thing is, he's not so old that he turned deaf, he still has a lot of energy in him. But still, I'll hate to see that day when he's gone.
Woof!

T2 B57: Shrek 3
Today brought us another visit to the library! Well, I was bored, so I wandered over to the video section and decided to take out Shrek 3. It was supposed to be really good, and we never had a family movie for a long time. So after dinner, we all settled together and watched Shrek 3. It was really weird, and different from the other 2. In this one, there was this evil guy called Rumpelstilskin and Shrek signed a contract with him. This turned out to be a bad idea, and Shrek had to go back in time and live for a day. Princess Fiona was there, but she had cool secret ninja-like skills. It was just really weird.
Okee, today we also got a new computer and a new printer! The new computer was for my sister and brother, since their last one broke down. It was faster, and waay newer than our old one. They were pretty happy about that, so they just spent the rest of their day on the computer. I got a new lazer printer, but it was really big, and could only fit under the table. Still, it was really exciting, and saves me the trouble of unplugging my computer and bringing it outside to plug into the other printer. Now I'm just going to sit here and admire the new computer and printer....

T2 B56: The War at Troy
Hey! So updates on today. We had our Brain Project lottery today, which was quite epic. Everyone was holding their breath, crossing their fingers, and hoping that the name being called out wasn't theirs. I got a really good spot, right in the middle, not too close to the beginning, but not to close to the back. I'm so glad I got #17. I also admire Chris, and Kevin D, for coming forward and volunteering, because no one else was ready to go. They both had really good presentations, and inspired everyone to make their own presentations better.I'm finally close to finishing my project, so hopefully I can fine tune it in the meantime.
In English, we started watching Troy, which is supposed to be a great and sad movie, according to Natasha. It features the Spartans in war against Troy. Achilles is of course, one of the main characters, and he is played by Brad Pitt. It was really awesome, but some parts were gruesome, such as times when Achilles was in battle, and other war scenes. But after Gladiator, I don't flinch at scenes like this anymore. We only finished a part of it, so I super excited to find out what happens next.
In P.E., we had our first gymnastics test on upside-down balances. I tried my best to hold a frog stand, and actually got a pretty good mark. I'm just glad I got this test over, because the next one is probably going to be way better!

T2 B55: Recognition Assembly
We had to skip most of band to go to the recognition assembly. It was basically congratulating everyone who got on Honour Roll and Principal's List. There was a very long schedule with everyone on Honour Roll and a short one for Principal's List. However, I think the principal accidentally read the first five people of the Honour Roll instead of the five on the Principal's List. This caused a lot of confusion and a lot of complaint afterwards. The good thing was, I already knew who was on Principal's List.
Okee, today was also the start of our religion project. We are assigned a religion that we picked. Afterwards, we have to present, ask questions, and answer questions. I got Asatru and I'm working with Kath C and Joshua. I'm pretty excited because Asatru sounds really interesting, and it's also about Norse mythology. I can't wait to learn more about it!
Congrats to all who made it on Honour Roll and the ones who truly have gotten on Principal's List,

T2 B54: Leslie's House
You guessed it, I went to Leslie's House after school. It was for a science experiment for science class. What we had to do was find our density, which was mass divided by volume. We knew the mass, but what we needed to find out was the volume. We decided to do what Archimedes did, and submerge one of us in a tub and measure the difference in the water surface. I still remember when Archimedes first discovered this principle, he shouted Eureka! and ran through the streets naked because he got overexcited. Anyways, Leslie agreed to submerge herself in her tub, and since she lived close to Churchill, we (Mimi, Leslie, and I) went to her house. We found the volume, but since we couldn't find a scale, we decided to approximately guess her mass. It took so long, and we were all really hungry afterwards. We had to pour water into this beaker measuring 2L, then pour it into the tub 45 times to get 90 L of water. Fortunately, Leslie provided his with food. In other words, we ate a lot of almonds. Mimi was going crazy and just munching on them. It was really fun to watch. I hope Ms. Smedley assigns us more assignments like this one. It's so fun working in a group.

T2 B53: Skating Lessons
Yesssss! Today was the first day of skating lessons. After riding, skating is my second favourite sport. How do you describe the feeling. It feels cool, from the ice, but your also gliding and skating, and it feels so much better than walking or running. My instructor is Liana, the same teacher from when I last skated. She still remembers me, too. She's a figure skating and power hockey coach. Isn't that cool? Our class is divided into 3 sections, Liana teaches all three. There's the figure skating group, which is my sister, my cousin, and I since we all have figure skates and do figure skating. There's the hockey group, which is the two other guys. These two groups are more advanced, and the last group is sort of the level 5 group, which is two girls. We get taught different things since the people in the hockey/figure skating group is level 6/7.
The thirty minutes of ice skating just feels too short. We did warmup, and then practiced our cross-overs. I haven't skated in so long that I almost forgot my moves. Right after, it was time to go. I couldn't believe it! Sigh. I'm already looking forward to next Tuesday.

T2 B52: Book Talk
Oh noes. I had to do my book talk today. I admit, it wasn't so bad, I already had everything prepared. The only bad thing was the suspense and the nervousness that builds up inside you before you have to go up. That's why I like to go first, so I don't have to compare myself to the person before me. Like Mimi, who went before me. Her book was totally awesome. I don't know if I made mine sound good or not. But I hope I did, because it really is a good book, and Natasha loves it. Do you know what the best thing was? For English, we're starting greek mythology! That is my absolute favourite topic. Err, besides horses and horseback riding. But I can't believe it! I've never gotten a chance to learn about it in elementary. I just read up on it by myself. But I'm really really interested. My favourite goddess is Artemis, it's also my name on the Sale forum. I don't know why, she's so fascinating and cool.
For gymnastics today, we practiced standing balances, which was better than the upside-down ones. Also, we tried some of the leaps, and they are finally something I'm good at.

T2 B51: Baby's House
This morning, my dad brought home McDonald's, so we had that for breakfast. I'm not a big fan of McDonald's it's not the healthiest thing, but I was rushing this morning, so I ate it. Anyhoo, we were rushing because we arranged to visit this baby's house, and they had just moved in. Remember the one-month old baby celebration we went to? Yeah, THAT baby. Well, they also have a son, and he's just so cute! When we went to his house, he was still eating. But he was really smart, and could eat by himself without help. Oh yeah, he's names Chester. We went upstairs to his room, and it was really cute! Everything was so tiny, but so, so organized! It was so...beautiful. Probably a room I would dream of having when I was smaller. There was a little table in the corner with drawing supplies, and guess what it was called? "Chester's Corner" That made me smile. Anyways, he pulled out a book, and started reading. He could count perfectly, and he's only in preschool! He is so smart!
Oh my. Chester is too cute. I hope I get to visit him again some day.

T2 B50: Heartland :)
So today, I spent the big half of the day watching Heartland. Since I've missed endless episodes of it, I have to watch it online on CBC player, but it's sooo good. Well, at least to me. It's about this girl, Amy Fleming, who lives on this ranch, Heartland. She has this gift that she got from her mother, Marion Fleming, and the gift was the ability to "listen" to horses, and be able to cure whatever was bothering them. At the beginning, Marion dies from a car accident after rescueing a horse. Amy and her family is left to deal with Heartland, and keep it going. Amy then tries to keep her mother's legacy, using what she was taught to heal horses. Her sister, Lou Fleming, comes back from New York to help run the ranch. There are a lot of romantic conflicts, and sibling rivalry. Also her dad, Tim Fleming, tries to reunite himself with his family, after leaving them. Anyways, it's so awesome! There are so many unexpected twists and turns, and it just keeps me entertained. It's on TV every Sunday at 7, so I can't wait till tomorrow! I just have to make sure I finish all my work then.
Cheers for Heartland!

T2 B49: Geography Challenge
So, for socials, we had our great Canadian Geography Challenge. Mr. Sale told us not to worry, but it still felt like a really big test. It was out of 90 questions, but we only had time to do 80. It was really hard. I got a really low mark, but it didn't count towards our term 2. I admit, it was really fun, even though I only got like 23 right. The one I did the best on was the animal section. Cynthia, who was sitting by my table, got waay more. She almost doubled my score. I don't know how she did it. She totally surprised me. I shall name her the "Geography Master." Who really got the best score was Joanna, I think only one point more than Cynthia. She didn't really want to go, but she should. She's really smart, and I think she would do well. Represent our class, Jojo!

T2 B48: Bull Dog Classic
Today, for P.E. we didn't have to do gymnastics! I was so happy! Instead, we got to watch the Bull Dog Classic. It was Brittania against this team I didn't know about. All through the match, we kept trying to figure out what school the visiting was from. I still don't know. Anyways, it was pretty amazing. They were really fast, and the guys were really...muscular. We watched the points get juggled around, but the mysterious visiting team was always leading. In the end they did win. Oh, the sound of shoes squealing on the floor is still in my head. It was so loud, I don't know how I got through it all. Also the coaches was fun to watch. The coach from Brittania looked easy-going, but nice. The one from the visiting team was really young, and seemed to be constantly yelling at his team. From the back, he looks exactly like Dykstra. I couldn't believe it, it was like they were brothers or something. I think Dykstra was one of the school's basketball coach, so he wasn't around during the tournament. But it's really cool, no wonder he's so tall, he must be really good at basketball. During our basketball unit, every shot he made never missed. It was just so amazing. I just hope I can get that squealing sound out of my head.

T2 B47: Gymnastics
Ow. My arms still hurt from gymnastics yesterday. I was so tired during P.E. that I could barely get through warm up. I don't know, I'm just not used to it, after not running for so long. Most of yesterday was just talking about our gymnastic moves and how we were going to marked. Oh, I wish he didn't have to tell us everything, because it really scared me. The moves all sound really hard, and I just don't want to do my routine. 13 elements, memorized, performed flowingly. How am I going to manage that? Thank goodness that we don't have to run laps around the field for gymnastics. I was so happy to hear that. Instead, we ran bleachers, which was less tiring than running outside. For most of gymnastics today, we did stretching. Reaching our toes was probably the hardest, but still, I managed to do it. I guess, it's better if you're shorter, since your legs are shorter, and it's easier to reach. But also, it's how your body's built. I don't think mine body's made for doing gymnastics. Then we did some upside-down balances which were way harder than Dystra made it look. I can't do a body stand, and I can only barely manage a frog stand. Sigh. How am I going to do my routine?
Maybe I'll just spend my free time stretching. If only there was a potion to make myself super flexible.

T2 B46: First day of school
Ok. The first day of school, and I survived! Really, it felt really weird and strange to me. Waking up at 7:30 felt more hard and tiring than usual, and I'm just not used to the darkness of the early morning. English felt like a dream, like I was still dreaming, and it was still winter break. We wrote in our journals, and I sure had a lot to write about winter break. I went on and on about the munchkin reunion, our turtle, etc...Then came the dreaded topic: our book talks. I bet everyone there was crossing their fingers, hoping to not be the unlucky one that had to present that day. Kevin D, and Cynthia presented that day, and they volunteered, so it was pretty good for the rest of us. Bad thing was, they raised the bar up high, because it was just that good, and I don't think I could ever make mine as well done as theirs. Good Job!

T2 B45: Bye bye Christmas tree!
Finally, after a few days of delay, my mom has decided to put away the Christmas tree. I always hate this part of Christmas. It reminds me that Christmas is over, and school's starting soon. It makes me sad to see the tree go, after spending many nights typing my blog under the glow of the Christmas lights. I love seeing it in the corner of my living room, lightening up the whole room. Oh well. I guess I'll just have to wait until next year. Anyways, as we were putting the tree away, I came across something in the attic. It was a tiny shirt, one I had worn when I was about 4 years old. It really looked so small! I couldn't believe I used to fit in it! Also, I can't believe I we still have it. I mean, all these years, it was just lying there in the attic. Maybe one day, I'll explore the attic, and see what else I can find in there. But then....I've read way too many scary stories about monsters in the attic, and they totally scare me. Um...on a second thought, maybe I'll keep away from the attic unless I have someone to go there with.

T2 B44: Central Library
In the early morning, I went to do some shopping with my sister. I bought a nice, white scarf, while she bought a new pair of jeans. Ahh, now I'm satisfied. When I came home, I realized that I still needed research for my brain project, so I headed to the Central Library. Sigh. It brings back a lot of memories. Back in elementary school, whenever we had big projects, our teacher would always bring us to the library for research. Running up those stairs to the different levels make me think of those days. I would find everything on the catalogue first, then scribble all the call numbers, and off I go, dashing up and down those levels, looking for my books. Then after I checked everything out, I lug my bag full of library books, and plot it down on a chair, and head to the pizza store. They always have really good pizza, and Hawaiian is my absolute favourite. I always visit the candy store, because I kind of needed to stock up on my candy. The same candy shop owner still recognizes me, because I'm always at the library and return at least once every year. This time, he was really nice and gave me a candy cane, since it was still close to Christmas, I guess. I can't believe he still remembers me! It's been a really long while since I've been in the store. Tonight, we're having this celebration for our friend's month-old baby. We're leaving soon, so I'm going to have to go.

T2 B43: New Year Resolutions
Okay, I made my New Years Resolutions early, so I know exactly what I'm going to do this year.
Here it is:
No Procrastination: Yes, no more fooling around, no more working late at night. If I didn't procrastinate, I'm sure I'm going to get things done waay faster. But then, the temptation is really strong. It's hard to resist those distractions. Hmm, there's also a reason why it's first on my list.
Saving Money: I admit, I'm not a very great money-saver. I mean, I have this jar I keep all my money in. But these days, it just disappears really fast. I'll have to stop buying those small, useless things, and save up for something BIG, something like my riding lessons. That would be a nice challenge. This morning, I went out and got a piggy bank. This way, I won't be tempted to take money out. Also, I'll stick a picture of a horse on it. That'll probably get me motivated enough.
Getting Enough Sleep: Oh, this is a big one. Procrastination plays a big role in this one. If only I didn't procrastinate, this goal wouldn't even be on my list. For some reason, I'm always distracted right before I know I have to go to bed. There's always a friend to talk to on Gmail, and sometimes you haven't talked to them in a long time, so you just HAVE to go talk to them. Othertimes, I'm finishing a book or playing a game, when I look up at the clock and it's already late...
More Outgoing: With the amount of homework building on me, I don't have many opportunities to go out and hang with my friends. Well, starting this year, that's going to change. Again, this points to my procrastination goal, and if I manage to be a little more organized, I'll change that. Maybe I should call up some old friends and go watch a movie. Take my new friends shopping. I have to make more EBA deposits.
That's about it for resolutions, but I'll probably think of more later.

T2 B42: Countdown
Oh noes, time seems to fly ahead of me. Where did the holidays go? Is it really over so soon? I can't believe it! It's already New Year's eve. Which means...that school starts in 4 days! Oh no! What am I going to do! Ok, off to work, at least I've done most of it during the first week of winter break. After doing work for hours on end, I finally take a break. And...I'm finished! Ta-da!! No more procrastinating on the last day. So as we wait for midnight to come, my dad, my brother and I, are playing this airplane board game. The goal is to go around the board, and then into the middle, where it's safe. When all four of your pieces are in the middle, you win, and whoever has all their pieces in the middle first, wins. We've probably played it a hundred times over, but each time we add a rule to complicate the game. It's really fun, though. For example, the last game we played, we could only go backwards. Okay, it's 11: 55, I'm going to log off so I don't miss the big countdown.
Happy New year!

T2 B41: Jane Austen
Still in bed. At least I'm recovering. I feel a bit better. OK, so eventually after all those boring hours, I've finished my book talk. Instead, I'm reading Jane Austen. Yes, her books are really old, but still Classics. I just love them for some reason. She's a brilliant author, and I just love all her books. I'm not finished some of them of course, but from this first book, I'll assume her other books are as well-done. The book I just finished was Northanger Abbey. It's a romance novel about Catherine, who has barely stepped out of her house now, and has gone traveling with her aunt. From this trip, she learns the ways of the world, and how the outside world is, certainly different from home. Of course, she meets a man, and falls in love with him, but the sad thing is that they were almost broken apart, until the ending, when the guy rebelled against his father and proposed to her. It was really good, and though it seemed confusing at times, with its twists in plot, and many characters, I managed to get through it and understand it. Now that I think of it, when I do get better, I'm going to go for another visit to the library and take out another Jane Austen book. Maybe it'll be "Emma" or "Persuasion" or "Pride and Prejudice".

T2 B40: SICK :(
Oh great, so soon before school starts, and I get sick. :( Oh I hate this feeling. The constant headache, the coughing, and the sore throat. I feel really bad, and I wish I can just sleep it off. But then there's the reminder that I have work to do, and that gives me a even bigger headache. I hope I get better before school starts so I can actually do some work. Mostly, I'm staying in bed, reading. Well, at least I'm doing something. I'm sure I'll ace my book talk now, I'm just not sure about everything else. Ok, short blog today because I can't think of anything else to say, other than complain, but you probably don't need to hear that.

T2 B39: Costco
We needed some more snacks, so off to Costco we went. The thing I love about Costco, is those cool food samples. They are just awesome. You get to try the food before you buy it. I don't know how many times we bought a certain snack thinking it was good, but then came home and finding it disgusting. We came home with pepperoni sticks, dried mango, and other groceries. Mmm...pepeproni sticks. They taste really good. It was a little bit on the spicy side, but it makes an awesome snack. As for the dried mango, we started eating it in the car. It was that good. I mean, usually my mom didn't let us buy dried mango, I'm not sure why, but she let us, because it was only a little after Christmas. I still remember, I had a friend last year who was crazy for dried magoes, and there was this guy who she always traded snacks with. It would always make me laugh to think of her constant craving for those mangoes. Oh, the good times. I wonder what I'll remember about this year.

T2 B38: Turtle Observations
Watching a turtle is way more fun than it may seem. For one thing, not all turtle go really slow. Ours was more energetic, I guess. First it went swimming and swam around for a while. While it was underwater, it had this protective coat over its eyes, and it was just so cool. He also had this yellow streak near his eye. I think he was a Brazilian turtle. Anyways, I fed him a turtle pellet, and he just came right over and started eating, er...nibling it. His mouth looked somewhat sharp, and so were his claws. Then he would just sit motionless on the rocks while basking under the lamp. I wish I could do that, just sit outside for a day, and bask in the sun. But know, the heat is good for the turtle, while the sun would just give me sun burns. My brother is STILL thinking of a name for his turtle, but if he doesn't think of one soon, I'm just going to go ahead and call it "turtle".

T2 B37: Fraser Aquarium
Sigh. Why is the weather so gloomy right after Christmas? It's raining on boxing day, too bad for all those shoppers. I stayed home, since I didn't feel like getting pushed around by shoppers fighting to get things. We waited until later, then went and bought more turtle supplies. It was really cool at the aquarium. It was called "Fraser Aquarium" The air was really humid inside, since they had so tropical fish. There was a lot of reptiles, including snakes and lizards. They were really fun to watch, but eventually you get creeped out. There were dead crickets inside, and I kept getting these weird feelings like the crickets were going to jump out and land on me. So I stayed away from the reptiles. We did buy turtle food and a heating lamp. Then we went home.

T2 B36: Christmas!
Finally! The long awaited day is finally here! Yessss! It's Christmas. Currently, I'm munching on a Chocolate biscuit (one of my presents), and I'm really comfortable curled up on the couch. So, as I promised, I'll give you an update on what I got and what I gave. So, what did I get? From a friend, I got delicious chocolate biscuits (just opened the box and couldn't stop eating.) From my cousin, I got a brand new sweater. It looks really pretty! From my secret santa, a horse stuffy (hurray!), and a muk muk stuffy (a big one!) Thanks Jessie! From my parents, it was the turtle. From my sister, I got a folder, a pencil and eraser, and a nice card. From my brother, I got a sweet card. Awwww....it was really sweet. From my aunt, I got this really nice mini purse. From my grandparents, I got a box of candy canes! YUM! And what did I give? To my brother, I gave him a bag of candy. His favourite lollipops, and a HUGE candy cane. For my sister, I gave her a bag of gumballs. Yup, you guessed it, they are the candy eaters of the house. For my mom, I gave her a nice sparkly scarf. For my dad, I got him a starbucks card. He loves their coffee, I mean, who doesn't? For my grandmother, I got her another scarf, a patterned one that was really soft. For my grandfather, who is a photographer, and just loves taking pictures, I gave him a really cool photo album. For my cousin, I got him a Chapters gift card, because he just loves to read. Yup, thats about it. So now I'm going to enjoy my chocolate biscuits in peace. Oh yeah, and admire all my presents.

T2 B35: Scavenger Hunt
Oh my. Christmas Eve is here already! It's just so fast. I can't believe it. It seems like just a week ago that I first started High School. So today, I headed to my favourite place, the library. Did I mention how much I love the library? The smell of the books, the thrill of picking a perfect book for the holidays, the sound of books being checked out. I just love it all. I love going through the library, seeing whatever books that are available. Usually I come home with my bag filled with books. So I stayed there for a loong hour, flipping through books, reading the books, and finally, taking out a whole bunch. Then I got picked up. Sigh. If only the library was closer to home, I would go visit it every day. But when I came home, surprise! My dad had planned a scavenger hunt so we had to find his Christmas gift to us. We searched everywhere. The clues was that it was downstairs, and that it looked out of place. We searched for a long time before I noticed a clear bowl near the windowsill. I wondered why there was a bowl there, so I walked closer. What I found out was that, yes, it was a bowl. But there was something INSIDE it. And guess what it was? A turtle! A real live, pet turtle. Really, it was for my brother. We were thinking of buying him a turtle as a pet, since my sister and I already own a hamster each. I was so surprised, though. It was swimming around, and then it went up to the rocks to bask under the heat lamp. My brother is still thinking of a name for it. I hope it doesn't get a weird name.

T2 B34: Gingerbread
You guessed it, today my siblings and I built a gingerbread house. We do this every Christmas, it's so fun! We buy this Gingerbread package that has the bread already stuck together in the shape of a house. Then all we have to do is apply the icing and stick the candy on. Sound too easy? Well, you don't know how hard applying icing and sticking candy can be. First, the icing barely sticks on to the house, and it's hard getting the right amount out. Also, it gets really sticky and it sticks everywhere, and is really annoying. Me, being the oldest, gets the job of applying icing. My sister and my brother gets to stick the candy. We have to make sure that we had enough candy to stick everywhere so we wouldn't run out. I caught my brother and sister sneaking candy, but luckily we still had enough. After our hard work, we sat back and admired our 2010 Gingerbread house. It was hard not to reach out and take a piece of the house. Usually, we wait until Christmas day to eat it. So we put the box over it, and just stared at it. After a while, the temptation wore off, and we went to watch TV. Oliver Twist was on, and so we watched that. I remember reading the book in Grade 6, since we had it for novel study, or at least the a easier version of the book. I still remember everything. I still remember that famous line "Please sir, may I have some more?" Oh, how I loved that line.

T2 B33: Munchkin Reunion
So today's the big day! Tonight, the Munchkin Reunion took place. Yup, I finally got to see my friends. It was planned to start at 7, so it was a big dark. But we still found Douglas' house. When I got there, the others were already there. I think they all came early. Anyways, we headed to my friend's room, where all the video games were, of course. I'm sure that if Douglas didn't have school, he would happily spend the rest of his life in his room. Anyways, since there were three guys (Alex, Philip, and Douglas) and me, we just agreed to play video games and talk. I found this really comfortable cushion that I just sat down on. It was so warm and comfy, that I didn't want to get up. We talked about how school was, and how the rest of our friends were. A lot of my friends went to Hamber, so of course I had to ask about that. Oh my. How the time flew. Our two hours was up before we knew it. I think our parents came half an hour late on purpose, to give us more time to chat. After our very long hour of video game playing, we came out of his room and had hot chocolate. It was really funny because Douglas had a cat, and he was sitting on one of the chairs, but hidden from view. So my friend walked near the chair, the cat popped out, and my friend got scared to death. It was really funny for the rest of us and we all burst out laughing afterwards. Sigh. the good times. But we're planning another "munchkin reunion" during Spring Break. I hope it's as good as this one.

T2 B32: Last Riding Lesson :(
Woah! I could hardly catch up with everything today. It seems like everything's coming at me all at once. What to do first? I can't wait to see my friends tomorrow! We're planning a little reunion tomorrow, at one of my friend's classes. They were from MACC, and we were known as the "munchkins", because we were all the short people in our class. Nevertheless, we were great friends, and two of us (Alex and I) headed of to Churchill, while Douglas and Philip went to Hamber. We hadn't seen each other in a loooong time, so tomorrow should be really interesting. Also, being the last-minute person I am, I went Christmas shopping today. It was really fun, kind of like a treasure hunt, a quest to find the perfect presents. You'll have to wait until Christmas day to find out what I got for my family ;) . Also, today was my last riding lesson :( . Yes, really sad, because I'm not sure if I'm going to go back. Or at least, anytime soon. Well, my teacher always loves doing cool things on the last class so I was really excited. First, we did warmup, walking and trotting around and around the ring, then we did some cantering. I was waay better than when I first started. I actually managed to feel pretty confident the whole way through. Then Katie (my instructor) decided that we should do some galloping. I got really scared for a second, because I've seen all these horse movies where they gallop, and it seems really, really fast. But it sounded fun, so I gave it a try. What I had to do was trot, canter at the corner, and then gallop down the side. I did exactly what I was told and I GALLOPED! It felt amazing, indescribable! It was kind of windy, so there was wind blowing through my hair, and I don't know, it felt really good, and I felt free, and far away from my homework troubles. It was really fun, even though my horse bucked a little, but I managed to stay on. After, we did cantering over the poles. Well, it was really hard keeping my canter, since Sprite (the horse) kept wanting to slow down. During our final try, we did it! I had to trot, pick up the canter in the corner, then canter down the sides, turn left, and go down the middle where the poles were. We cantered right over the poles. It was really awesome, because it had the same feeling as jumping. My lesson ended after that, and I got my report card. I didn't get my lime badge yet, but Katie said that if I came for one more round of lessons, I would pass. Argh, I really want to go for this one round of lessons, since the only thing I need to pass is to be able to complete a Jumping course. This means that during the next lessons, I would finally get to jump! I really hope I come back, because from what I hear, jumping is the awesomest. thing. ever. Also, after I learn how to jump, I would be able to compete. If I do come back, I hope I make it in time for the Spring Show. I participated in it when I was doing my Pink badge, and it was totally awesome! There were tons of riders there, and you can see the more experienced ones do their jumping. Mmmmm. I can smell the turkey dinner I'm going to have in a few seconds.

T2 B31: Aberdeen, or at least near it.
So, during my pro-d day, our family went to Aberdeen, just for fun. I haven't been there for a looong time anyways. My mom had to drop off this folder to a friend, so that's part of the reason we went. Anyways, there was this little market place near Aberdeen, and we had lunch there. The food...wasn't exactly great. But then there was this little booth for drinks. It was so cool, and also very healthy! They served fresh fruit drinks, I got a kiwi one. It tasted ok, but a bit on the sour side. There were lots of fruit and vegies drinks on then menu. And guess what i saw? Sweet pepper smoothie. Er....I wouldn't want to taste that. There was also very strange combinations. Anyways, after that, we went to Aberdeen to roam around. First, it was straight to Daiso. I wanted to find materials for my science fair, and success! I did, and it was very cheap there, too. After that, we went to this very cool voodoo doll selling place. I guess my sister and my mom were captured by how cute those looked. So they bought some for presents and for themselves. I'm just not interested in them. My sister got a Japanese looking one, because she's just that interested in them. My brother got a cool wacky ninja one, which i thought looked pretty cool. Soo, that just sums up my day. Other than that, it was rushing to finish my homework, so I wouldn't be cramming it at night.
Have a fun Pro-D!
