Woah! I could hardly catch up with everything today. It seems like everything's coming at me all at once. What to do first? I can't wait to see my friends tomorrow! We're planning a little reunion tomorrow, at one of my friend's classes. They were from MACC, and we were known as the "munchkins", because we were all the short people in our class. Nevertheless, we were great friends, and two of us (Alex and I) headed of to Churchill, while Douglas and Philip went to Hamber. We hadn't seen each other in a loooong time, so tomorrow should be really interesting. Also, being the last-minute person I am, I went Christmas shopping today. It was really fun, kind of like a treasure hunt, a quest to find the perfect presents. You'll have to wait until Christmas day to find out what I got for my family ;) . Also, today was my last riding lesson :( . Yes, really sad, because I'm not sure if I'm going to go back. Or at least, anytime soon. Well, my teacher always loves doing cool things on the last class so I was really excited. First, we did warmup, walking and trotting around and around the ring, then we did some cantering. I was waay better than when I first started. I actually managed to feel pretty confident the whole way through. Then Katie (my instructor) decided that we should do some galloping. I got really scared for a second, because I've seen all these horse movies where they gallop, and it seems really, really fast. But it sounded fun, so I gave it a try. What I had to do was trot, canter at the corner, and then gallop down the side. I did exactly what I was told and I GALLOPED! It felt amazing, indescribable! It was kind of windy, so there was wind blowing through my hair, and I don't know, it felt really good, and I felt free, and far away from my homework troubles. It was really fun, even though my horse bucked a little, but I managed to stay on. After, we did cantering over the poles. Well, it was really hard keeping my canter, since Sprite (the horse) kept wanting to slow down. During our final try, we did it! I had to trot, pick up the canter in the corner, then canter down the sides, turn left, and go down the middle where the poles were. We cantered right over the poles. It was really awesome, because it had the same feeling as jumping. My lesson ended after that, and I got my report card. I didn't get my lime badge yet, but Katie said that if I came for one more round of lessons, I would pass. Argh, I really want to go for this one round of lessons, since the only thing I need to pass is to be able to complete a Jumping course. This means that during the next lessons, I would finally get to jump! I really hope I come back, because from what I hear, jumping is the awesomest. thing. ever. Also, after I learn how to jump, I would be able to compete. If I do come back, I hope I make it in time for the Spring Show. I participated in it when I was doing my Pink badge, and it was totally awesome! There were tons of riders there, and you can see the more experienced ones do their jumping. Mmmmm. I can smell the turkey dinner I'm going to have in a few seconds.
Ride on,
Dapple Grey
