It's too bad I don't own any green clothing, because I would definitely have worn it today. Well, I did have a green barrette that I wore during the day, so that was okay. Also, I thought there were going to be a King of Hearts type of thing again, but they didn't haven't. I had friends who were confused over what colour clothing to wear, since they were encouraged to wear green for St. Patrick's Day, and red and white for Japan.
Anyways, I had to arrive at school at 9:10 today, since my siblings have elementary school, and no one else could drive me at 10. I spent most of my time by my locker, trying to study for the Socials test. Well, it took me a long time, and by the time Socials came, I still hadn't finished studying. I guess I didn't do too bad at the test, but I hadn't exactly done too good either. I just hope that there are other tests that I'll do that'll make up for it.
Science turned out to be the most interesting class today. We had a debate on whether activity should be taken to control invasion of alien species from ballast tanks. I was on the port official side, and I guess it was pretty hard, since I was totally against my own group. But that's what makes a good debater: to have good points no matter what side you're on. Well, the class was pretty passionate about this, and it wasn't long before we were all on our feet argueing and yelling at each other. We all had really strong opinions, and just couldn't wait to say them. What happened was that the port officials teamed up with the ecologist to go against the first nations and the fishermen. I think Mrs. Davidson distributed us really well, since we had really good debaters on all sides. But even she had trouble trying to control us, since we kept getting overly-excited. But I thought it was awesome, and I hope we get to do another one, since this was one of the best debates I've had.
Stay tuned,
Dapple Grey
