Locked out!

Lesson learned, from now on, I shall have a copy of my room key hiding somewhere OUTSIDE my room, so if I happen to stupidly lock myself out, I would have another key to open it. Sigh, it's kinda what happened today. So I can home today, and I was in a pretty good mood, until this happened. I walked out of my room, not noticing that I accidentally locked the door on the way out, and then my door closed behind me. When I got back, finding it locked, I thought my brother went in and locked me out, until I heard his voice behind .. My thoughts? Oh no, oh no, oh no. I remember there used to be a copy of this key hidden in this cupboard, I tried every key I could find in the house, and none of them fit. I guess my parents threw it away, with the other useless keys, thinking that they didn't have nay purpose. And then I got more desperate, and so I decided to try to pick the lock with a bobby pin. Ahh, that didn't work out so well either. So then I really panicked and was desperate, so I went to my mom. She tried picking the lock, but then she had to go to her classes, so she wasn't home to help. My grandfather though, was pretty good at problem solving and fixing things, so I went to him instead. We ended up with the idea of crawling in through my open window from the outside. Thank goodness my room is on the main floor, and not the top floor, or else I wouldn't have been able to do this. First we tried our normal ladder that barely reached my window, but was tall enough to take out the window screen, which was only held in place by two little plastic thingies, that were pretty easy to take out. Then we opened the window all the way, got out our really, really tall ladder that reached all the way up to our window. I was about to climb it, but then my little brother offered instead. I guess it would be easier for him, since he's a lot lighter, and so he would have the best chance of having the ladder not fall while he was on. So my grandfather and I held the ladder tight, while he climbed all the way up. Lucky for him, I keep a chair under the window, so he stood on that, and then we heard the THUMP! when he jumped onto the floor, and unlocked my door. Then we put back the window screen, and my room was freed! I was so, so happy and grateful. I made sure to repay my brother in terms of candy. Scared I'll lock myself out again, I gave me room key to my grandfather to copy so I could have a second key outside my room. THANK GOODNESS! I will never be that careless, and never, ever try that again! Well, lesson learned, always have a key outside your room, especially if your only room key is attached to a USB in your room.
